Dr. Gannon brings extensive expertise in adult reconstruction, including both routine and complex hip and knee surgeries, with a focus on restoring mobility and improving quality of life for patients suffering from degenerative joint conditions or failed prior replacements.

Originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Dr. Gannon graduated summa cum laude from the University of New Mexico and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he was recognized for his academic excellence in biochemistry and teaching. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Minnesota, followed by a competitive fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement at UCSF, right here in San Francisco

Dr. Gannon has authored multiple manuscripts and book chapters and has presented his research across local, national, and international stages. His academic achievements include: Ramon Gustilo, MD Research Award (2024); Emerging Leader, American Orthopaedic Association (2023); AAOS/OREF/ORS Clinician Scholar Program Participant (2023); as well as multiple honors in medical school and undergraduate education.

His current research interests include infection prevention and the development of innovative orthopedic devices.
